New Swiss Talents – Roland Perrenoud (NST 1/1979)

Roland Perrenoud was born in La-Chaux-de-Fonds in western Switzerland on 10 October 1949. He studied at the La-Chaux-de-Fonds Conservatory and at the Music Academy of Freiburg im Breisgau in West Germany.

He was engaged as oboe soloist with the Groningen Philharmonic Orchestra of the Netherlands in 1974, and with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Netherlands Radio and Television from 1975-78. Perrenoud was finalist at the Munich International Competition for Music Performers in 1976, and winner of the 1978 Soloist’s Competition of the Swiss Musicians’ Association.
