Bad weather means losses for alpine farmers
The traditional Swiss custom of leading the herds up to alpine pastures for the summer has been delayed this year due to bad weather. Farmers who have risked the journey have been faced with rain soaked mountain sides and soil erosion.

The weather has also taken an economic toll. Farmers have had to fork out more on cattle food to sustain their herds during the long wait down in the valleys. Some have been forced to sell animals to make ends meet. (10vor10 SRF, swissinfo.ch)
