How does a chamber of commerce work?
The British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce is a network designed to help businesses in Switzerland and the United Kingdom grow. (Julie Hunt, swissinfo.ch)
Julie worked as a radio reporter for BBC and independent radio all over the UK before joining swissinfo.ch's predecessor, Swiss Radio International, as a producer. After attending film school, Julie worked as an independent filmmaker before coming to swissinfo.ch in 2001.
It stages more than 100 events a year and offers access to key decision-makers.
swissinfo.ch asked some key members whether the chamber is still important in the internet age. The chamber’s honorary president and British ambassador to Switzerland, David Moran, the managing director of the chamber of commerce, Magalie Chelius, and managing director of the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, Marc Jacob, weighed in.
