The Kuoni Travel group reported on Monday that it had successfully completed the acquisition of the United States company T PRO.

Kuoni said that as a result of the takeover it had gained a firm foothold in the fast growing US market for incoming business, which provides on site services at holiday destinations.

The incoming business market is Kuoni’s third most-important activity after leisure and business travel. In 1999, it generated turnover of SFr455 million ($268 million) for Kuoni, out of a total group turnover of SFr3.5 billion.

T PRO is ranked number three in the US incoming business with 100 employees in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Orlando.

The company supplies passengers of some 500 tour operators from all over the world with services and assistance on their travels in the US.

T PRO offers an extensive inventory of over 1,800 hotels in 200 cities and a broad spectrum of ground services, city packages, escorted tours and soft adventure packages.

In 1999, it generated turnover of some SFr180 million. The purchase price of T PRO has not been disclosed.
