Rapperswil mourn crash victims

Police officers examine the scene of Wednesday's fatal crash Keystone

Rapperswil-Jona ice hockey club have postponed this weekend's home match against Chur following a road accident in which two of the club's junior players were killed.

The two boys, aged 12 and 13, died on the way back from a match in Davos when their minibus collided with a road barrier and overturned. The driver of the minibus said he had lost control of the vehicle after a car pulled out suddenly in front of him.

Four other people, including the driver, were injured in the accident but none are reported to be in a life-threatening situation.

Following discussions with the league, Rapperswil officials said they had decided to postpone Saturday’s match out of respect for the grief being felt by the club and the children’s relatives.
