‘Blue my mind’ tops Swiss film awards

"Blue my mind" by Lisa Brühlmann has come out as top film of the 2018 Swiss Film Awards, sweeping three awards.

The Swiss Film AwardExternal link honours the “outstanding achievement of the Swiss film industry”.

“Blue my mind” won best feature film and best screenplay, while Luna Wedler, the young star of the film, won best actress. Wedler plays 15-year-old Mia, whose entire existence is called into question as her body begins to transform.

The best documentary film award was won by Jean-Stéphane Bron for “L’Opéra de ParisExternal link“, which was co-produced by the Swiss national broadcaster RTS. Encompassing music and ballet, it tells the story of life behind the scenes at the Paris opera.

Award for best actor went to Max Hubacher for his role in “Mario”.External link Jessy Moroavec also won the best supporting actress award in the same film.

“Facing Mecca” by Jan-Eric Mack won the award for best short film and “Airport” by Michaela Müller best animated film.
