Die Schweizerinnen und Schweizer lieben den braunen Wachmacher: In der weltweiten Rangliste des Kaffeekonsums stehen sie derzeit auf dem dritten Platz. Nur Deutsche und Norweger greifen noch häufiger zur Kaffeetasse.
Im vergangenen Jahr tranken die Schweizer 1093 Tassen Kaffee pro Person. Das sind 2,9 pro Tag. Damit landen sie auf dem dritten Platz, hinter den Deutschen mit 1246 und den Weltmeistern aus Norwegen mit 1275 Tassen pro Jahr. Dies zeigt eine Erhebung, welche die Gastronomievereinigung CafetierSuisse am Montag publizierte.
Für den geliebten Kaffee sind die Schweizer auch bereit, je nach Standort tief in die Tasche zu greifen. Im laufenden Jahr stieg der Durchschnittspreis für einen Café Crème um einen Rappen und beträgt neu 4,24 Franken.
Am teuersten ist der Kaffee – wenig überraschend – in der Stadt Zürich. Dort kostet er derzeit im Schnitt 4,42 Franken. Am günstigsten ist die Kaffeepause im Kanton Bern, wo der Preis für eine Tasse erst in diesem Jahr die 4-Franken-Grenze knackte.
