How reusing waste materials saves energy
The Swiss are world leaders in recycling. This helps to reduce energy consumption considerably. In aluminium processing, for example, 95% less energy is consumed thanks to the use of recycled materials. The recycling of only 12 PET bottles saves the equivalent amount of petrol used on a 9km car journey. (SRF/swissinfo.ch)
