Drama ʻDer Goalie bin igʼ wins top awards
The drama “Der Goalie bin ig” by Sabine Boss has won four Quartz trophies for Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Film Score at the 17th Swiss Film Awards ceremony on Friday evening in Zurich.
Dimitri Stapfer won a trophy for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in the drama film Left Foot Right Foot, which also received the Quartz trophy for Best Cinematography. The Best Actress award went to Ursina Lardi for her performance in the feature film Traumland, while Marcus Signer who played the eponymous “Goalie” got the Best Actor award.
Der Goalie bin ig is a film based on a book by Pedro Lenz. It tells the story of Ernst – known as “Goalie” by everyone – who returns to the place where he grew up after a year in prison. He finds a job and falls in love, and when he finally gets the chance to make a living and find happiness he is caught up by his past.
Vaters Garten – die Liebe meiner Eltern received trophies for Best Documentary Film and Best Editing. The Green Serpent by Benny Jaberg took home the Best Short Film Award, while Best Animation Film went to Anete Melece for The Kiosk.
The Swiss Film Academy chose the winners. The Swiss Film Awards are produced by the Federal Office of Culture, together with its partners, the Association Quartz Genève Zürich and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR, swissinfo.ch’s parent company. The event is organised in collaboration with Swiss Films, the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Festival.
