Othmar Schoeck: The 3 Violin Sonatas. Simone Zgraggen. Ulrich Koella.
Othmar Schoeck was born in Brunnen near Lake Lucerne in 1886. He studied in Zurich and for a short period thereafter with Max Reger. He settled in Zurich in 1908, working as a conductor and piano accompanist and directing the symhony concerts in St. Gall from 1917 to 1944. By this time (1944) an internationally recognized artist, he then concentrated solely on composition, writing song cycles and orchestral works until his death in 1957.
