Peter Roth: Juchzed und Singed – Din Atem trait min Gsang.
This recording presents two works by Peter Roth for choir and instruments. The mass "Juchzed und Singed - Jubilate and Sing" Peter Roth composed in 1991 for his church choir in Alt St. Johann (Canton St. Gallen). This music - in 12 movements - is a blend of natural yodel and Gregorian chants. It is intended as accompaniment of an oecomenic Holy Communion. In "Din Atem trait min Gsang - Your Breath carries my Chant", Roth set four creation Psalms (77, 104, 139, 148) to music. This work he composed in 1999 during a trip around the world with stops in New York, the Northern Philippines, India and Canton Grisons (Swtzerland).
