Capriccio Basel was founded in 1999 and "very quickly played itself to the forefront of our indigenous baroque orchestras" (Basler Zeitung). The orchestra's repertoire includes baroque, classical and early romantic works. Playing on original period instruments, Capriccio's sound is rich in nuance and colour, and noted for its dynamism and imagination. Artistic director and leader: Dominik Kiefer.
