Swiss producer wins sixth Oscar

Switzerland's Arthur Cohn (right) has become the first film producer ever to win six Oscars. His film "One Day in September" was chosen as the best documentary at the most glamorous award ceremony in showbusiness.

Switzerland’s Arthur Cohn (right) has become the first film producer ever to win six Oscars. His film “One Day in September” was chosen as the best documentary at the most glamorous award ceremony in showbusiness.

The film tells the story of the killing of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Receiving the award, Cohn told the audience that the fact that the film had not yet been released was evidence that the jury valued more than success at the box office.

The film was up against stiff competition, in the shape of Wim Wenders’ “Buena Vista Social Club” which celebrates Cuba’s musical tradition. The film has been shown in over 55 countries and made over $20 million.
