Telemann: Music for Oboe. Heinz Holliger
Heinz Holliger was born in 1939 in Langental. He studied oboe and piano in Bern and Paris, and composition with Pierre Boulez in Basel. He has played with all the major orchestras of the world in addition to enjoying an active career as a chamber musician. As a conductor, Heinz Holliger has worked with leading orchestras worldwide.
Telemann's 12 Fantasias for traverse flute were first published in Hamburg in 1732-33, one of a number of sets of unaccompanied instrumental music the composer wrote at this time. The CD includes also Telemann's Suite in G Minor for oboe and b.c from 'Der getreue Music-Meister'.
