From the article How Swiss women used to spend their hard-earned leisure time
From the article Why Swiss women are back on strike today
From the article Swiss women have come a long way, but still face discrimination
The sad part is that SWISSINFO will never talk about how foreigners are discriminated. Everyone is treated a foreigner for 3 generations and then people wonder why nobody wants to really integrate. Why would you integrate in a society that will never consider you Swiss in your life time. The natural response is not to want to integrate as you are refused integration by law.
It seems equal enough to me, as a woman lawyer. Too bad nobody takes into account that while my husband would not mind working 12 hour days, I would rather work at most 8h a day and spend the rest with the children. That's a major difference when you get paid for each hour you bill to your clients.
Good thing we'll never have equality. Who wants that?
Fascinating article. Thank you.
I would be curious to know in Swiss public universities what percentage of women is enrolled and graduates in STEM degrees.
In order to restore women to their rightful place, men's salaries should be adjusted to those of women.
pour rendre aux femmes la place qui est la leur, on devrait ajusterle salaire des hommes à celui des femmes.
I would like to know how a foreign woman can find a job here? I have two years living here and so far it is impossible find a job in my profession, it is like all companies read that I studied in another country and they automatically deleted my cv. I really want to know how a woman can be independent, and contribute with this amazing country, I really want to know if is possible be able to work here when you are a foreigner???
I read in the Swiss news today that a woman is killed by her partner every 4 weeks. Is this higher or lower than in the past? Is it a result of Covid (people forced to be together for longer) or is something else happening? Could it be due to equality, for example? In the past, men and women roles were clear. Man went to work, woman stayed home looking after the man, the house, the children. Men have not evolved much beyond caveman. Women have now caught up. Men do not know their role any more. A friend tried to be a house-husband, only to get belittled by his wife, who often said "Be a man". What does that mean?
Are you imposing we should go back? I disagree, if a person can't define himself in a relationship they established, they should rethink it or brake up. It is not a cultural thing anymore, you now can decide what suits you best. Your friend should talk with his partner and not blame society for their mistreatment, it is silly to think everyone has this problem now.
