Schumacher changes team, but only on the football pitch

Germany's Formula One star, Michael Schumacher, plans a change to his sporting career - or at least the one he has been carving out in his spare time.

Schumacher is switching to a different amateur league football side in the Swiss canton of Vaud, where he resides. He is making the switch out of loyalty to his coach.

Schumacher, known as “Schumi” by his fans, currently plays for FC Aubonne, a local amateur team. However, Aubonne have failed to renew the contract of their coach, Roland Schaer.

After Schaer signed for rival local side Echichens, Schumacher decided to follow him there. Quitting the club where he has played since 1997, Schumacher said that football was his hobby, and he was not interested in the politics of the game.
