Swiss men edge closer to curling semi-finals
Switzerland beat Finland 9-5 at the world curling championships on Wednesday, strongly boosting their chances of qualifying for this weekend's semi-finals.
Switzerland can make sure of a place in the last four by winning their final qualifying match against Norway on Thursday.
But even if Andreas Schwaller’s side are unable to beat the high-flying Norwegians, they will still have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals via a tie-break.
In contrast to the men’s mixed results, the Swiss women’s curling team have failed to win one match of the eight they have played so far. Their latest defeat was at the hands of Sweden on Wednesday.
