Water – the elixir of life

Turning on a tap in Switzerland involves only two thoughts: how much and how hot or cold? In other words, water is an everyday luxury that we take for granted.

“No water – no life,” is something we learn as small children. In many countries, however, it’s the water that makes people ill or even kills them.

The cost of purifying water in Switzerland is so small that people aren’t aware of it. The following pictures aim to highlight where recycled wastewater – so-called greywater – could be used instead of drinking water. (Images: Keystone/RDB)
