The ‘no littering’ challenge
Céline joined swissinfo.ch in 2018 as video journalist for the 'Nouvo in English' project, just after graduating from the Academie du journalisme et des medias (AJM) at the University of Neuchâtel. Originally from Ticino, she's been filming, writing and interviewing people all over Switzerland since she got her first reporter badge at 11 during a school camp.
Getting a bucket of icy cold water down your back, biting into a toxic tide pod (laundry tablet) or walking around blindfolded: after seeing how crazy challenges went viral on social media, Byron Roman from Arizona posted a picture of a man in Algeria cleaning up public spaces, daring “bored teens” to take on the #trashtag challenge. And soon enough, people started cleaning up their hometowns all around the world. And in Switzerland? “Cleaning Days” were happening before it was cool.
