In 2006 pupils in parts of Switzerland received a controversial textbook which gave a new perspective on their country’s policy during the Second World War. The history it taught them was not as heroic as it was before. It deals with some darker aspects the period, including Switzerland’s close economic ties with the Nazis and the rigid immigration regulations for Jews. (Ben Huwyler, swissinfo.ch)
