Official Basel river swim attracts thousands

Some 3,000 people took part in the 33rd Basel Rhine Swim on Tuesday. The fastest swimmers needed 20 minutes to complete the 1.8-kilometre stretch between the Schwarzwald and Wettstein bridges – in glorious water temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius.
