Dynamics of dust
Photographer Philippe Dudouit is honoured for his take on shifting Saharan life.
Lausanne-based Dudouit has been named one of the winners of the 2011 Swiss Design Awards for his work, Sahel – Dynamics of Dust, a collection of striking photos from the Saharan and Sahel African belt. “With this work, which began in 2008 and is still in progress, I want to show the radical changes in this part of the world and the speed at which they are happening, and which are being ignored by the majority of people.”
