Modern farming and its risks for human health
The practice of feeding antibiotics to healthy animals to promote growth and prevent disease is proving dangerous to humans. If animals are treated with a certain antibiotic over time, the bacteria living in those animals will become resistant to that drug. If someone ingests the resistant bacteria and becomes ill, the patient may not respond to antibiotics. (SF/swissinfo.ch)
