St Moritz: second homes, bane or blessing?
Second homes are a bone of contention in tourist resorts. Unlike hotel rooms which are used over and over again, many holiday homes are empty for much of the time. “Cold beds” means fewer visitors spending money – but the resorts still have to maintain their expensive infrastructure. While the Swiss are about to vote on limiting second homes on a national level, St Moritz and the Engadine valley have come up with their own solutions. (Michele Andina, swissinfo.ch)
