What many of you do not know is if you are coming from the USA and you are a US Citizen or green card holder (Dual citizens) you will have to comply with US tax laws. Banks in Switzerland do not want to have accounts with US citizens regardless if you are a Swiss. Please look up FATCA and banking regulations, IRS. Swiss banks will give you this information. PostFinance is one of the banks that is willing to work with you. I plan to sell my home in Eastern Switzerland as I reside in another part of Europe. Please remember Switzerland has its has advantages as it also will have its disadvantages.
Hi my name is Alberto Wirz, I am a Swiss citizen born in Peru. My grandfather came from Basel in the 1920s. I receive the Swiss Nationality and I give it to my daughter also. Since my daughter is 05 years old I want her to do all her school in Switzerland. So we are planning to move next year. My only complaint is that given the current situation in the world "us" the 5th Swiss living abroad will really appreciate the government having a clear channel where we can address our questions regarding moving back to Switzerland for good. There is so many different offices and no one single channel to help us organizing us settling in Switzerland. I have 15 years experience working in Luxury tourism all over the world and like me, many "talented and experienced" Swiss from abroad will create a great contribution to the Swiss economy if the avenues for us to coming back will be easier (like having an specific office to deal with our cases, or an appointed counselor to help us organize our coming back)
Indeed. We‘ve been working in Miami for the last 3 years and we’re planning to stay at least 1-2 more years, but given the political orchestrated „mess“ we might move back till YE.

I have really thought about it but as we have a family, the decision is not easy. One of the problems to go back to Switzerland as a Swiss is that all jobs are not visible publicly (due to the UDC votation in February 2014). So it makes it more difficult to find a job in Switzerland from abroad. This is very problematic and nobody talks about it.
We lived for 4 years in Germany and for another 4 in AUstralia. With the new law mandating c-virus vaccination, we are considering leaving Switzerland for good with the kids and giving up our Swiss passports even though I was born here and I love this country.The country I was born in would ask its citizens and not force vaccinations. We are not China.
We are returning as a family to Lucerne as soon as possible after a disappointing transfer to Scotland. We were meant have moved collectively in June. We are moving back because we are Suisse and would like our children to have a less xenophobic education.
My husband is Swiss, I'm Mexican-American, we live in California. We moved from Switzerland when our girls were 10months old, but always with the plan to return for the girls school. We still plan to move back in a couple of years although the handling of the pandemic in the US does give one second thoughts of moving sooner. We have gone back to Switzerland every year since moving to California, though this year may have to be an exception.
Likewise, I'm a Swiss student studying abroad but wish to return after the pandemic is over. I hope that could be this year so I can see my family and friends.
