In the news: Bye bye Credit Suisse chairman, so long FIFA president and hello tram-trains.
- The big news of the day was the announcement of the departure of Credit Suisse chairman António Horta-Osório. The Portuguese banker was brought in to steady the ship after a spate of scandals. Unfortunately, he got caught up in personal scandals of his own, including breaching Covid-19 regulations.
- Despite repeated denials, FIFA president Gianni Infantino was found to have moved his household to Qatar, the host of the 2022 football World Cup. His disgraced predecessor Sepp Blatter did not pass on the rare opportunity to take the moral high ground. Blatter chastised Infantino for making FIFA dependent on the Gulf State and plotting to shift FIFA HQ out of Switzerland.
- Swiss train maker Stadler Rail landed a record contract worth €4 billion to build tram-trains for Germany and Austria. A tram-train is a tram that can also be used as an inter-city train if configured accordingly.

Normally on the move and living out of a backpack, Disch has opted for a more settled life due to the pandemic. He’s created a comfortable cocoon for himself in Thailand.
Are you working on an interesting project outside Switzerland? We’d love to hear from you.
