I am trying to explain why firearm homicide rates are extremely low in Switzerland compared to the USA, despite the availibilty of firearms.

In the USA racial minorities (especially black Americans) have a much higher homicide rate than Whites. The likely reason are their poorer economic conditions (racial invariance hypothesis).

Switzerland has a very small population of African descent. Although Africans have the highest conviction rates, is that also true for homicides? Do they even have access to firearms? What are the economic conditions of these people?

Full transparency, and never to hide the nationality of the criminals

Let’s face the facts - the System itself is very selective - as a foreigner especially from countries mentioned on this article - you are always guilty before even proven guilty. The law will be harsh on you than Swiss for the same crime the saddest part about the situation is that even if you’re a foreigner with Swiss nationality you will be treated differently.

Like Lynx, I noticed that Swiss car drivers drive carefully but other road users are often horrible. I saw too many cyclists cutting in front of cars, pedestrians walking on a road without looking etc. I even saw an old lady in an electric wheelchair driving on a major road!

I feel bad about the system, but it works. Just as insurances for the car are based where are you from considering overall country performance, I believe they have the se system for detecting crime. If one country is dangerous we can assume thous people could commit the crime with higher percent than another country. System can't be based on individual it would be ineffective. I don't have a solution, and I coming from Russia have to pay much more for my car insurance because of that even though I drive very safely, but we get a relief later on and I believe if police is looking into every new comer onse he reside here for some time I think he is out of the zoom. We can't blame this system as statistics indeed helps, it is just thatamy people have to go through some personal injustice by paying more or being stopped by police more often.

“The role of Swiss media in creating and upholding the stereotype of criminal foreigners from colonial times until today.”

This would obviously include racial bias. We don't see articles about the white, wealthy, and welcomed foreigners who commits e.g. tax evasion. I would consider a contribution such as the one mentioned above as a form of compensation and very needed reflection after your racist work.

I would like to know the number of convicted criminals and the place of crime. Also I would like to know the age of the criminals and the land of origin. If they are foreigners, I would like to know how long they reside in CH and based on what reason were they allowed to reside here. With comparison, I would like to see the criminal statistics for SWISS locals too.

With these numbers, perhaps we can finally put to rest that not all foreigners are criminals and not all swiss are angels.

Why is there very little control over cyclists? Other road users get heavily fined if they break the rules. Also, who is paying for all of these new cycle lanes? Not the cyclists, who don't even pay road tax. Now that is a crime.

Totally agree, this is unfare and only adds fire to the conflict. Many times a cyclist with its begs on the side hit my car passing by, how many times I saw them at night with no lights what so ever, I could have killed them because of such actions. We should have more patrols on the road to fine byciclist who change the line with no endication and can change 2 lines at one time, which is not allowed for anyone else. Plus they don't drive at winter so all thous stolen lines are waisted. We need regulations, sof ar I see none, only drivers have to learn how to be careful with everyone and gets to pay for the road and fines. This should be changed espeeif you want more bycicles on the car roads.

Please more specific info! Like origin, age, education, professions etc. I assume swissinfo is not a boulevard paper. So I expect swissinfo to respect the readership's intelligence. Too, I find the arrogance of the journalist's suggestions that we as readers have to go through their limited control places, specially for CH as insulting!

How does bias determine who gets suspected, searched, and subsequently arrested and charged and those who might continue ciminal activity undetected on the one hand hand how does it influence sentencing on the other?

Africa is not a country, so to compare the offenses comparing a continent to other COUNTRIES, is an egregious oversight. Or it was intentional.

Can you explore how the prohibition to work while residing in CH as an asylum seeker contributes to illegal/criminal activities ?

If your report referred to other foreign residents using their countries e.g. Canadians, Swedes, Irish, etc. why are Africans lumped together (West Africans, South West Africans, etc.) instead of being given their national identities too?
