Swiss Post said in a statement that Ruoff’s prior management experience with international corporation IBM and as ceo of British Telecom’s Swiss subsidiary would strengthen the executive management team of the organisation.
“Owing to her pronounced competencies in the digital realm, Susanne Ruoff can crucially strengthen Swiss Post’s executive management in view of future challenges,” Swiss Post said in a statement.
“In the coming years, Swiss Post’s customers will increasingly ask also for electronic services. Swiss Post thus wants to continue implementing its strategy of connecting the physical with the electronic world in a targeted manner.”
Ruoff, 53, takes over from Jürg Bucher, who is retiring, on September 1, 2012. She is the organisation’s first female ceo and its third since Ulrich Gygi left three years ago.
