This year’s festival opens with “Super 8”, a film by J.J. Abrams, and a retrospective of Vincente Minnelli is included in the programme. Special guests include actors Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Leslie Caron, Bruno Ganz and Claudia Cardinale. Two Swiss films are competing for the Golden Leopard award and French actress Isobelle Huppert will receive the Excellence Award for her lifetime achievement. 180 films will be shown during ten days.
