He settled in France in 1917. From 1920, “purism” was at the heart of his work. Towards the end of that decade, he began concentrating on the problems of cities.
His work was submitted unsuccessfully for inclusion on the Unesco World Heritage list in 2011. It is to be resubmitted in 2014.
