The top prize of Swiss Press Photo 2013 has been awarded to Laurent Gilliéron for his image of the 2012 bus accident in Sierre. Of the 28 people who died, 22 were Belgian children on holiday.

Swiss Press Photo honours freelance and staff photographers for single photos and photo series that have been published in the Swiss press. The main prize is worth CHF20,000 ($21,400); the winner of each category receives CHF2,000. The prize was established by the Reinhardt von Graffenried Foundation.
