Llaneras takes top spot in Zurich six-day

The trio consisting of Spain's Juan Llaneras, Italy's Adriano Baffi and the Swiss Pascal Richard, has taken the overall lead after the fourth day in Zurich's six-day cycling race.

The riders covered a distance of 20 kilometres on the indoor wooden track at Zurich’s Hallenstadion on Thursday night. Llaneras and his team mate, Baffi, clocked an average speed of 53.046 kilometres when they won the fourth day of the event.

They now have a 147-point total in the intermediary rankings. The team consisting of the Danes, Jimmy Madsen, Tayeb Braikia and the Swiss, Beat Zberg, are now in second place overall with 118 points.

However, they only finished in eighth position in Thursday’s stage.

The all-Swiss trio of Bruno Risi, Kurt Betschart and Markus Zberg, are still only in third position overall, after one round, having finished third on the fourth day of the race.
