Between October 1941 and March 1943, the Swiss Red Cross organised four medical missions to Russia’s eastern front. Personnel were sent to help the injured and sick in German war hospitals. Many regarded the missions as acts of goodwill, designed to mollify the Germans. They were organised by people who openly sympathised with the Nazis. (archive swissinfo.ch/SF 09.06.2005)
