Migrating bee-eaters travel with friends

The bee-eater is a small, colourful migratory bird that each year flies to and fro between Switzerland and the African continent.

By fitting some birds with tiny, data-collecting sensors, researchers from the Swiss Ornithological Institute got a rare glimpse into how bee-eaters make their epic journey, which until now has been very difficult to observe. (SRF/swissinfo.ch)
